Dr. Edward T. A. Fry is a nationally recognized cardiologist with over four decades of experience in patient care, clinical research, and health system leadership. He currently leads cardiovascular services for Ascension Health nationwide and is a former President of the 56,000-member American College of Cardiology, where he championed innovation and equity in heart care.
Board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, Dr. Fry is known for his patient-centered approach and data-driven improvements in cardiovascular outcomes.

About Dr. Edward Fry
Dr. Edward Fry’s career spans academic medicine and integrated health systems. Born in Dublin, Ireland and educated in the U.S., he earned his MD from Washington University in St. Louis before completing internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowships at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University.
He remained on faculty there as an assistant professor and director of the cardiac transplant program, honing his skills in advanced heart failure care and research. In 1991, Dr. Fry joined Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, where he has served as a busy interventional and general cardiologist for over 30 years.
He currently leads Ascension’s Cardiovascular Service Line nationally and at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis, guiding heart care strategy across one of the country’s largest health systems.

Since 2015, Dr. Fry has overseen cardiovascular strategy and operations across Ascension’s nationwide network, standardizing care and fostering collaboration among cardiology teams.
Founding Member & Past Chair, Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center
Dr. Fry helped launch this dedicated heart hospital, shaping its growth into a top regional center. He also co-founded Navion Healthcare Solutions, focused on quality improvement and data management.
